Vietnam, first impressions

We arrived in Hanoi after a long day of travel with layovers in Singapore and Bangkok. BTW, you have not flown until youhave flow Singapore airlines. Free drinks, hot towls, leg room, free movies. Not very smart but I choose not to sleep and watch lit sof movies. I don't sleep well on planes anyway. We arrived in Hanoi and aparently they have had the most rain over the previous three ays than they had had in 3 years. Tons of flooding everywhere, made things a little difficult for us. Luckily we brought good weather and continue to do so. We arrived at our hotel late at night and went to bed right away. The next morning, early, we met our driver and guide and took off for Ha Long Bay for an overnight on a junk boat (more on that later, almost out of time.) Motorcycles EVERYWHERE but that is not the best part. The best is that they have 1, 2, 3, 4, sometimes FIVE people on them! Adults, babies all on a moped or motorcycle. Not only that but they tie goats, buffalo, yes buffalo and all their luggage to the bike and then there are 500 of them heading in all directions, no traffic signals. The rules are good two. If you are in a car and hit a bike. Car is responsible no matter who's fault it is. If a vehicle hits a pedestrian, vehicles fault no matter who is really at fault (as we would think of it). Basically thef ood chain goes, Pedestrian at the top, then bike, then motorcycle then car. So as a car driver, watch out, you don't want to hit anything or anyone. And the courts let the familys settle. I want to say more but am late for a massage. Will post again later and elaborate and talk about the last fews days.
